In this study
A history of Éliphas Lévi and the nineteenth-century French occult revival, extending to his predecessors, successors, occult organizations and literary reception.
Chapters 13–15 (pp. 141–176) follow Lévi's reputation and the movements that succeeded him. McIntosh traces his influence on members of the Golden Dawn and the later division between Joséphin Péladan and Stanislas de Guaita's order.
